The broad pools and rushing rapids of Deep River’s upper reaches are where many canoeing and kayaking enthusiast find their thrills. Top fishing and bird watching spots can also be found along its path through the State karri, jarrah and tingle forests, Mount Frankland and Walpole-Nornalup national parks to the Nornalup Inlet at Walpole. An easy day trip from many south west towns, the lower reaches of Deep River lie just a few kilometres to the south-west of Walpole.
