The point was named after the French navigator Antoine de Bruni D'Entrecasteaux who came across the land on his way to Cape Leeuwin in 1792. Point D'Entrecasteaux is a four and a half hour drive south of Perth near the town of Northcliffe. Also close by is the Great Forest Trees Drive, where you can tune your radio into the tourist channel and follow the road through 48 kilometres of karri, jarrah and marri forest.
