You’ll soon discover why the foreshore is one of the city’s most loved attraction… Along with its safe swimming beach, there are; changing rooms and toilet, a lifesaving and rescue facility, extensive lawns, free electronic barbeques and large popular playground area with shade and a café to relax and have something to eat and drink. The waters are somewhat shallow which gives you the rare opportunity to walk to the ‘blue line’ in search of a feed of fresh crab. Land-based anglers will benefit from a new fishing jetty replacing the original built 1970s to provide an ideal place to catch tommy ruff, garfish, Whyalla’s famous ‘big red’ snapper and many other species. There is also a swimming enclosure in the deeper waters of the marina where you can submerge yourself on those long hot days in summer.
