The Island Stack walk, in Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) National Park, is one of five walking tracks that explore the eastern side of the Lawn Hill Gorge camping area.
The four kilometre return walk starts with an easy stroll through creek side vegetation along Lawn Hill Creek, before a steep climb with many steps up the stack. At the top, an easy 1.7 kilometre walk around the 'table top' affords impressive panoramic views over the middle and lower gorges.
This track is best walked in the early morning or late afternoon. Stay on the walking track at all times and keep clear of cliffs and steep rock faces. Carry plenty of drinking water and rest often in the shade. The Island Stack trailhead is located near the canoe hire on the eastern side of the camping area....
