The staff were excellent, it shows they enjoy their job, very friendly and helpful. The dive and snorkel areas we went to were great but wished we saw a bit more variety but that’s nature. The fish life was in abundance. Food supplied was excellent.
An amazing day out with the crew from Quicksilver. The overall package and value is exceptional which I would recommend to everyone. Snorkel sites were perfect with coral, fish, turtles and sharks all sited. Very knowledgeable and fun team who were engaging.
SilverSonic is a very commercialised operation. Very crowded onboard given Covid-19 restrictions. Impossible to maintain 1.5m social distancing whilst onboard. The company still went ahead with self-serve buffet onboard (I was informed that no self-serve buffet onboard when booking). Constant reminder to all passengers to check in with QLD Covid Safe App at the service desk at the Marina but no evidence of any social distancing onboard is shocking. Almost impossible to hear the guide explaining about the reef out at the deck. Reef sites were average with fair amount of bleaching noted. Average amount of marine life despite swimming for about 100m away from the SilverSonic docking site. Final reef site was the most exciting but had the least amount of time to explore. Service: fair Ambience: none Food: plentiful but average in quality Overall experience: Average Would definitely not recommend to anyone looking for a personalised experience. Suitable for those who are just looking for basic transportation out to Agincourt Reef.
The trip itself was great and the dive guides were fantastic. Tammi and Addi really made a nervous diver feel completely comfortable in the water and I'm so grateful for it. There was a snorkel tour too and the staff pointed out things I would have missed on my own (like a lion fish!) The dive sites were beautiful and the equipment was top quality. No leaky masks here! The only downside (which is beyond their control) is that it is a long day of sea sickness if you are prone to motion sickness. This boat is a catamaran AKA a vomit comet. The reef is WELL worth a bit of sea sickness but make sure you take sea sickness pills. Beware when booking as the company have a high minimum number and will cancel on you if they don't meet it, no matter how inconvenient this is for you.
Seriously the best crew and best diving off Port Douglas! This is our second time out with the team and again they didn’t disappoint! The dives sites are unreal! You will see everything you want and more. You know you are in a good boat when you recognise faces from previous trips! We had a triple dive - 3 different dive sites and all are so different. If you want to see the real barrier reef get on board! Whether you dive or snorkel, family or solo, this is the boat for you! Thanks guys for looking after us again and we will see you soon!
Awesome day out and oh boy did we pick the best day of the week as the rest of the week was really quite choppy out there on the water. Today was around 10 knots so perfect. I went snorkelling as I have not plucked up the courage as yet to go and dive. We went to 3 Reef sites = 3 Sisters - which was very colourful..best Reef I have seen up here!, then Phils Reef where me and my friend stumbled upon a huge sharke asleep (we think) on the ocean floor. It was HUGE !!! Soemone said it was probably a Nursing Shark or something. Our last Reef was Turtle Bay which was nothing spectacular but actually my favourate as I go to snorkel with the lovely Simon who was on snorkel duty that day. Food was very tasty. We had breakfast goodies when we boarded then a lovely large buffet (hot and cold) for lunch and later there was even afternoon tea and cake. I had far too many Brownies ha ha ha. Fab day out. My only negative is the lack of comfortable seating upstairs, outside. I would hate to be on this boat when it was full as you really would have to get on first to grab the few seats upstairs!
